Rocket Emojis and Red Flags: How Social Media Fuels the Next Wave of Micro-Cap Madness.

Fraud, Micro-Caps, and Cross-Border Pressure: 2025’s Greatest Hits
Yes, 2025 is the year that investors once again demonstrated that they will give their money to anyone who has a ticker symbol and a Telegram channel. The losses from "pump-and-dump" strategies that target obscure Chinese micro-caps have totaled billions. It seems that every previous bubble taught us to ignore it since we are unique. These masterworks of market manipulation always have the same appearance: a nameless stock unexpectedly soars on claims  of a "new business concept." (In other words, a old business model which parts you from your money.) Then, when retail piles in, the insiders sell and the stock collapses faster than your faith in your local losing team. In the meantime, NASAA and state regulators are pleading with Congress once more to maintain the
"investment contract" requirements for cryptocurrency. Because clearly, after years of fraud, scams, and rug-pulls, some folks still think redefining securities law to exempt their favorite token is a good idea.

My thoughts? Social media is not a Bloomberg terminal. If your investment tip comes from a stranger with a rocket emoji handle, you’re not trading you’re donating.
